“Do Not Fear Death, Fear the Unlived Life” Natalie Babitt

Please, please, please, I beg of you to set your life up that when death comes a knockin’, you may be mad and not ready to go, but you at least feel FULL and SATISFIED with how you spent your life. Because here’s the thing- we as humans feel awfully immortal until it smacks us in the face. And then you realize how precious life is and how fast it can all change.

In 2015, I had my first real life experience with this. At the young age of 28 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. We got the “you have cancer call” on a Thursday and it wasn’t for another five days until we got the full diagnosis and man, was that the longest and scariest weekend of my life!  We prayed it was caught early but in the back of our minds we couldn’t help but think, what if it wasn’t, what if this is the end? And I’ll tell you what, that weekend I do remember thinking:

I’m so glad I have had such a fun and amazing LIFE.

I really made these 28 years count!

From the friendships to family relationships, to the career and professional life and of course to my adventurous and active life. I really was stoked on what I accomplished. Yes, I was scared if it was the end and I would have been pretty mad if it was, but I was at least glad I had made those years count.

How many times have you heard stories of someone dying young, or getting sick and you thought to yourself, “I’m so glad that isn’t me”. Well honey, I hate to break it to you but sometime in the future that is going to be you. So please, make it count. Please, LIVE your LIFE! Because once your time is up there is nothing you can do to change the past. So make sure you are setting your life up that you won’t want to change it!

Oh, and if you aren’t sure what a fulfilled life looks like to you, then stay tuned because next Elevate Livin’ Life post we’ll talk about figuring out what a LIVED LIFE looks like. Until then, start DREAMING of what sets your soul on fire!
